Season’s in the Sun

Season’s in the Sun

One of VQ’s independent fashion stores, Seasons, has just announced the arrival of several great new labels, some of which are exclusive to them in our region.
Boy London:
After Rihanna worked a straight up original 80s BOY look on the Jonathan Ross Show in March, everyone knows that BOY London is back.  The underground fashion label which was founded in 1977 became famous for its iconic logo print designs worn by every top pop star in the early 1980s, has been enjoying a resurgence with those early-adopting East London hipster kids for over a year now thanks to vintage eBay finds and capsule collections via the likes of Urban Outfitters.
Now though, the whole SS12 retro BOY London collection is available in the UK exclusively at Selfridges until the end of April where it then is available in only 10 independents across the UK, one of which Seasons.

Mr Bathing Ape:
Mr Bathing Ape is an ongoing project formed between the collaboration of the Tokyo street wear brand A Bathing Ape and Japanese clothing company, United ArrowsNigo, the pioneer behind Mr Bathing Ape, takes his skills learnt on Savile Row with Huntsman and Anderson & Sheppard and blends them with street wear to produce a quirky and unmistakable new tailoring line.
Expect the unexpected, as the Mr Bathing Ape collections have no set style rules except to keep clothes interesting. Collections have seen silk motif ties, needle point shirting, ‘Warehouse’ collaboration denim, wingtip brogues and camouflage ties incorporating his trademark monkey heads.
Hackett:
Hackett was established on London's Portobello Road in 1979. Sourcing vintage men's clothing, founders Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd Jennings began trading their cleaned and repaired finds on a market stall. Since then the label has come a long way, now being regarded as a significant British fashion brand. Their 1987 sponsorship of a polo team attracted interest in the newly designed shirts and it wasn't long before Hackett was spotted off the polo lawn too. Hackett is now the official clothing partner of Aston Martin and is a label considered synonymous with exceptional British style.

Store manager, Jordon Rowlin commented, “It’s always good to get new labels in the store, but I’m particularly looking forward to BOY London, as it’s a brand that’s got a huge following at the moment. It’s great to be one of just a handful of stores outside London to carry the range, so I’m really anticipating its arrival in mid May.
Mr Bathing Ape also has a strong appeal, with its quirky, non-conformist approach to fashion, and both have a great celebrity following.”

VQ Centre Director, John Bade added, “Whilst VQ is well known for its big name brands, it’s arguably the independent stores that define the centre. They are a great complement to the higher profile stores and add a significant point of difference to the centre as a whole. The exclusive nature of some of Season’s new lines will, I’m sure, add value not only to their store, but more broadly to VQ as well.”
